Chopra questioned in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel whether Gill could exceed Kohli’s record. He predicts that the opener will once again be exceptional if he can handle Chahar’s new-ball duress.
“This individual (Gill) bats differently. He is no longer the crowned monarch; he is now the king. Can he surpass Kohli’s season record of over 900 runs? He will need to achieve 122 runs again for that. In his last four innings, he has scored three centuries, Chopra stated on his YouTube channel, Cricket ki Chapaul.

Despite using an outdated ball, Deepak Chahar dismissed Gill from their Qualifier 1 match. In GT’s previous two 2023 matches against CSK, the talented opener scored 63 and 42 runs, respectively, and would want to perform even better in the championship match.
