At the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday, February 16, Deepti Sharma was removed for an impressive 39-run knock during her team’s match against the Gujarat Giants in Match 3 of the 2025 Women’s Premier League. In the 15th over of their innings, UP Warriorz was six down after a spectacular diving effort from her opposite number to dismiss Deepti.
Stationed at mid-off, Ashleigh Gardner sprinted to her right and dove full length to hold onto a Deepti toe-ended shot.
After earlier in her run dismissing the Australian pair of Tahlia McGrath and Grace Harris, teenage Priya Mishra won her third scalp of the evening in the process.

UP Warriorz only managed to score 143 points in the end. Saima Thakor (15 off 7) and Alana King (19* off 14) both made crucial runs down the order that gave the innings a late boost after Deepti was dismissed. In his 27-ball knock, the spin-bowling all-rounder hit six boundaries. Uma Chetry finished with 24 off 27, the second-highest score.
Kashvee Gautam, a right-arm medium pacer, was the most economical bowler for the Gujarat Giants. After taking one wicket, she ended up giving up just 15 runs in her allotted four overs. Both Gardner and Deandra Dottin took a few wickets each.
Giants get back on track after first shocks
By the time the run-chase arrived, the Giants were at 2/2 after 1.3 overs and looking down the barrel. Grace Harris and Sophie Ecclestone both hit in their first over and were immediately in the money. However, Gardner and Laura Wolvaardt handled things fairly well.
The Giants won the game comfortably by six wickets with two overs to spare.
