Shree Charani, a 20-year-old left-arm orthodox bowler, made her international debut against England during the current five-match T20I series in the United Kingdom. Charani has demonstrated in her first two matches that she is prepared for the big stage and is unafraid of the opposition or the conditions.
Charani had a fantastic start to her international career, finishing with mind-blowing figures of 4/12 in 3.5 overs in the opening T20I in Nottingham. She backed it up with another brilliant effort in the second T20I in Bristol, taking the crucial wickets of Amy Jones and Alice Capsey in the same over to flip the game on its head. India won both matches to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
Charani garnered high accolades from seasoned Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma after performing admirably in the first few matches. Deepti is thrilled to see the youngster assessing the conditions and bowling in optimal locations.
The Bengal cricketer also praised Shree Charani’s capacity to learn and improve her talents swiftly.
“It’s not easy making your debut, but she took four wickets in her first game.” She is quite young; I appreciate that she analysed the conditions and bowled in the appropriate areas because it is not simple,” Deepti remarked at the pre-match press conference before of the third T20I, which will be contested on Friday, July 4 at the Kennington Oval in London.
“She was really confident going into her first game, and even in the second, she took important wickets. Deepti remarked, “She is developing herself quickly under these conditions.”

The Women in Blue have the opportunity to make history by winning a series in England for the first time. However, Deepti stated that the Indian team will not look ahead and will instead focus on the basics in the third T20I.
“We will stick to our procedures and take it one game at a time. We will not attempt to do anything differently. We are not searching very far. Deepti remarked, “We are taking it one game at a time and trying to keep doing what we’re doing.”
The Indian players trained for 25 days in Bengaluru before travelling to England eight days before their five-match T20I series. Deepti stated that India’s preparation has been quite beneficial, particularly for the younger players.
“We arrived here about a week before the series; everyone adjusted well, and the practice matches really helped with getting used to the conditions. Deepti went on to say that the youngsters benefited from it.
