In the upcoming The Hundred 2024, Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma will make her comeback, joining the London Spirit squad in lieu of the injured Grace Harris.
Deepti Sharma participated in the competition’s first year as a player for Spirit in 2021 and was not employed by Birmingham Phoenix the following summer.
Tuesday, July 23, at the Kennington Oval in London, sees the start of the most recent edition of The Hundred between the Oval Invincibles and the Birmingham Phoenix. The next day, Spirit will take against Southern Brave at Southampton’s The Rose Bowl in their inaugural match.
Deepti will be representing India at the Asia Cup in Dambulla on national service, therefore she won’t be able to participate in the eight-team competition’s first game. Erin Burns, who is currently in the UK playing for the Northern Diamonds, will take her spot for the first two games. The Bengal all-rounder, along with Richa Ghosh of the Birmingham Phoenix and Smriti Mandhana of the Southern Brave, are the only three Indian players who will compete in the next competition. Both players, like Deepti, are a member of India’s Asia Cup roster and won’t be available during the opening week of competition.
On Thursday afternoon, the ECB announced the addition of Sophie Molineux (Manchester Originals), who has joined Harris in pulling out of the Hundred. Although she could not provide a reason for her withdrawal, Australia’s hectic upcoming schedule might have been a factor.

Kim Garth has taken Molineux’s spot at the Originals, and Bethan Ellis will be joining her after Mahika Gaur pulled out with a side issue. The Oval Invincibles have not yet announced Tash Farrant’s substitute despite her hamstring injury keeping her out of action, according. Last year, Southern Brave won the final by 34 runs after beating Northern Superchargers at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
