In their upcoming WPL 2025 matchup against Gujarat Giants at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, February 25, the Delhi Capitals will try to recover from their defeat to the UP Warrioz in their last game.
Jonathan Batty, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, talked about the previous game and the lessons and conversations the think tank had following the 33-run defeat to the Warriors. Interestingly, after two wins and two losses in as many games, the Capitals have four points.
“I thought we bowled really well for the first 16–17 overs of the opposition’s innings, but we gave away some extras,” the team said after reviewing the previous game. Our goal is to make this even more stringent. Our ability to hit longer distances has significantly improved, and we are very reliable at it.
The Delhi Capitals are now third in the standings after winning and losing two of their first four games.
Batty added, “We have played some really good cricket in recent times,” in reference to the team’s performance. The only thing is that we haven’t completely won a few games yet. Therefore, going forward, we want to get a little tighter, continue to master the fundamentals, and maintain our confidence. We intend to win every game we attend.
The Englishman stated, “All the teams are really strong and that goes for Gujarat as well,” in reference to the matchup against the Gujarat Giants.
Both domestic and foreign players are of high caliber. Their bowling lineup will be a little bit more spin-heavy than what we have seen so far. They have dangerous batters as well, so we’ll simply try to play to our advantages,” he said in closing.
