Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) request for an interim injunction against an advertisement for Uber’s bike taxi service was denied by the Delhi High Court. In an Uber ad, Travis Head, a cricket player for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), went towards the Bengaluru cricket stadium and vandalised the “Bengaluru vs Hyderabad” signage.
Ride like a Hyderabaddie ft. is the advertisement’s slogan. Before Bengaluru denigrated the RCB team, Travis Head, the SRH opener, was observed writing “Royally Challenged” with spray paint. By stating that the court was not inclined to remove the advertisement at this time, Justice Saurabh Banerjee denied the temporary remedy.
“This court believes that the contested advertisement is in the context of a game of sportsmanship, cricket, which does not require any interference at this time,” the bench stated.
