In order to make commuting easier for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 matches, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has granted the public a reprieve by running its metro services later than usual. DMRC confirmed in a press release that it will run an additional 76 trains on all operating lines on the days that the Delhi Capitals play at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the capital.
The final game at the historic location is set for May 11; the other matches will take place on April 13, 16, 27, and 29. Extended metro services will be available on all of these dates, which will encourage the use of public transport and aid to prevent traffic jams on the highways.
“By extending its last train timings by about one to two hours on all lines, the Delhi Metro will be making 76 additional train journeys on match day in preparation for the unexpected rush that is anticipated at these local Metro stations once the event is done.
In a press statement dated April 11, DMRC stated that this would allow spectators to go to their locations with ease by using the Delhi Metro.

The Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have been having a fantastic tournament run thus far. They are the only team to have won all four of their games. The team led by Axar Patel has maintained its lead in the IPL 2025 Points Table after winning their first two home games in Visakhapatnam and then travelling to Chennai and Bengaluru to defeat CSK and RCB, respectively, in their away games.
They will want to continue their winning streak when they play the Mumbai Indians at home on April 13. However, because their campaign hasn’t appeared balanced thus far, the Mumbai Indians will be hoping for a change of pace.
