Dewald Brevis blasted through to a magnificent fifty (57 off 23) in IPL 2025 Match 67 between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. This was the South African’s greatest IPL score, surpassing his 25-ball 52 against the Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this month.
Dewald Brevis knock featured four fours and five sixes.
Three of the five maximums came in the nineteenth and twentieth overs against Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, respectively. Brevis’ fifth six was a beautiful swing of the bat that sent the ball beyond the deep midwicket fence. The 22-year-old was dismissed on the final ball of the innings, leaving CSK with a mammoth 230/5 on the board.

Brevis wasn’t the only batter to reach 50. Earlier in the evening, Devon Conway scored 52 off 35 after his team won the toss and chose to bat first. Ayush Mhatre (34 off 17) and Urvil Patel (37 off 19) made brief appearances and kept the audience engaged.
Except for Prasidh, who finished with 2/22 in four overs (with 15 dots), every other GT bowler was sent packing. Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan, and M Shahrukh Khan each took one wicket. However, all of them conceded runs at a rate more than 10.
This is the final league phase game for both teams. While CSK was eliminated from the playoffs a few weeks ago, GT has the opportunity to improve their chances of finishing in the top two if they win this game.
