Dewald Brevis accelerated Chennai Super Kings’ run chase with a 22-ball fifty, smashing Vaibhav Arora for 30 runs in a single over to put his team back in the contest against Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 57 of IPL 2025.

Earlier in the evening, KKR posted 179/6 after electing to bat first. Ajinkya Rahane added 48 at the top, while Andre Russell managed a 21-ball 38 to give a push. Manish Pandey also chipped in with a knock towards the end. CSK’s bowling was headed by young Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad, who bagged four wickets, including two in one over. Chasing 180, CSK had a disastrous start. Ayush Mhatre, Devon Conway, and debutant Urvil Patel all departed inside the first three overs.

The incident took place in the 11th over, when Vaibhav Arora was brought back into the attack.

The South African batter hammered the pacer, smashing him for 6, 4, 4, 6, 6, 4 in an over that leaked 30 runs. The final boundary brought up his 50 in just 22 balls, flipping the match win predictor from 78% in KKR’s favour to 78% towards CSK.
