Mahendra Singh Dhoni, a former captain of India, has served as an inspiration for many young cricket players all over the world. Yashasvi Jaiswal has previously been seen in the Indian Premier League 2021 greeting the renowned cricketer with his hands folded out of pure respect for the India great. Dhruv Jurel, a young player for the Rajasthan Royals, recently had the chance to meet the 41-year-old, and he described the experience as bizarre.
Notably, Jurel played his first IPL game in Guwahati’s second encounter against Rajasthan and the Punjab Kings (PBKS). He has so far amassed 62 runs in four games with an astounding strike rate of 182.35 (so far). He has provided the middle order of Rajasthan, which was having some trouble due to the ineffectiveness of Riyan Parag and Devdutt Padikkal, with the much-needed consistency.
Dhruv Jurel met his idol MS Dhoni for the first time on April 12 during the game between RR and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and he later claimed that he was speechless for five minutes before speaking with him.
“Meeting the players I had grown up idolizing was weird. When I first saw Mahi Bhai, I stood back and gave him a five-minute gaze. I pondered. Jurel was cited as saying, “Bas mehnat karni hai, waha tak pohchna hai,” by Human of Bombay.
“I got to play on the field with my hero, MS Dhoni, in our most recent game. Nothing is impossible, I told myself that day.
But nothing beats the last game. Mahi Bhai and I conversed in addition to sharing a field! The answer he gave when I questioned him about it was, “As a finisher, you only get 1-2 overs to make your mark.” Simply have faith in yourself and begin striking. That’s what I intend to do in order to get to him. Nothing is insurmountable after all. Added Jurel.
Notably, on Wednesday, April 19, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Jurel and the Rajasthan Royals will play their next match against the Lucknow Super Giants.
