Dinesh Karthik, a former Indian cricketer, added some light-hearted fun to the upcoming Test series between England and India by unveiling Cheteshwar Pujara’s lookalike. India is currently in England for a five-match series, with Karthik on the broadcast and commentary crew.
Dinesh Karthik used these social media profiles to post a funny video of Pujara and his doppelganger.
In the video, he asks both of them if they think they look similar, which causes everyone to chuckle. Karthik recognised Pujara’s ‘true doppelganger’ as Alex Noble, a BBC Sport sports journalist.
“What I’m going to show you right now is a cricketer and another person who seem very similar but are from very different parts of the world. Let me show you everything. This is Cheteshwar Pujara, an Indian cricketer who has recently gotten into broadcasting, and this is Alex Noble,” Karthik stated in an Instagram video.

Speaking of Karthik, the wicketkeeper-batter retired from all forms of cricket in 2024 following the IPL season. However, he later reversed his decision and returned to action in the SA20 league, representing the Paarl Royals. Over the course of his international career, he played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is for India. Most recently, he was part of the coaching staff for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the IPL 2025 season.
Meanwhile, Pujara last played a Test for India in 2023 and has been out of the national setup since then. He featured in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval but was not selected for the home series against New Zealand or the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
Pujara has played 103 Tests, scoring 7,195 runs at an average of 43.60, including 19 centuries and 35 fifties. In the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy, he played for Saurashtra, scoring 402 runs in seven matches at an average of 40.20, which included a double century. Currently, he is part of the broadcast team covering the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
