The goal of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) is to develop young players into great players, according to assistant coach Dishant Yagnik. On May 1, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, RR lost to the Mumbai Indians (MI) by 100 runs, eliminating them from consideration for a postseason berth.
According to the assistant coach, the players who entered the camp were not star players, but after doing well in the IPL, they became into such and are currently on the route to becoming so.
You make a really good point when you ask about the players. A new player is not a star when he first shows up, but he is transformed into one.
At the press conference held after the game, Dishant Yagnik stated,
“We will turn the guys we have on the squad into stars. Last year, the players we had weren’t stars when they joined the team, but they became stars.
He went on to say, “This is our tagline: we create superstars, not buy them.
The 14-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi recently made history by smashing a century off of 35 balls against Gujarat Titans (GT). After the brilliant century, Yagnik said, the crowd was ecstatic, and players like him go on to become famous. The coach underlined that the team will not just consider large players but will also try to recruit and develop young players.
Everyone cheered Vaibhav Suryavanshi on as he batted (against Gujarat Titans during his 37-ball 101). The whole audience was joyful, and we think these men will become famous in due time,” Yagnik stated.
RR will next take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, May 4 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata at 3.30pm.
