India A won the 2024 Emerging Asia Cup against Pakistan by a margin of seven runs. In the final two overs, the Men in Green needed to score 23 runs because the game might have gone either way. India, especially Rasikh Salam, who conceded just eight runs in the game’s penultimate over, was able to maintain composure. Pakistan may have been under a lot of pressure, but it was a challenging request, and they went about their job in the last over.
Anshul Kamboj completed the task for India by taking out Abdul Samad and conceding nine runs in the last over. With a seven-run victory, the team captained by Tilak Varma was victorious. Pakistan was in the match for the longest, even though they lost early wickets. However, like their seniors, the young players were unable to maintain composure at critical moments, which greatly aided India.
Prabhsimran Singh and Abhishek Sharma, the openers, set the tone for India in the meantime. Abhishek scored 35 off 22 balls and Prabhsimran scored 36 off 19, forming a 68-run partnership. Tilak then scored a mature knock of 44 runs, while Nehal Wadhera scored 25. A cameo of 17 runs off 11 balls was then played by Ramandeep Singh as well. India scored 183 runs overall as a result of that.
India’s tenacious battle against Pakistan
Pakistan had a 21/2 lead at one point in the chase. In the powerplay, Kamboj took two wickets, putting the team captained by Mohammad Haris behind the ball. Since then, Arafat Minhas and Qasim Akram have taken charge, scoring 41 and 27 runs, respectively. Samad scored 25 but was unable to complete the scoring after their dismissals, although looking well.

Rashik and Nishant Sindhu each took two wickets, but Kamboj was the team’s outstanding batsman, taking three. India now sits second in Group A’s points standings, which also includes the United Arab Emirates and Oman, after the victory.
