The long-time goal of Bengal batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran is to make his debut for the Indian cricket team. Easwaran, who has an outstanding record of over 6500 runs in 88 first-class matches, was used as a reserve player in the 2021 Test series against England and the World Test Championship (WTC) final. He is currently on a tour of South Africa with the India A team.
Easwaran recently emphasized how determined he is to represent the country. The 28-year-old continued by promising to keep pursuing his goal and not give up.
“For every player who takes up the bat or the ball, the ultimate goal is to play for their country.” Even though I haven’t started playing cricket yet, I’m known as an Indian cricketer. That should happen shortly, I hope. My one and only dream is to represent my nation on the field. I’m not going to give up on it lightly. I’m going to keep going after it. I will ensure that I am adequately ready for it. I’m hoping to play for the nation soon,” India Today cited Easwaran as saying.
Easwaran is optimistic that he could be selected for the starting XI against South Africa A. Additionally, he said that having visited South Africa in 2021, he was aware of the country’s difficulties.
“I might participate in South Africa’s inaugural “A” game.” On the sixth, the stitches will be cut. Next, a call will be answered by the medical team and support personnel. I visited South Africa in 2021, therefore I am well familiar with the country’s conditions. I have also practiced hitting with an awareness of the tempo and bounce of those situations. Thus, I am indeed extremely prepared, Easwaran continued.
He went on to say that he hopes to be selected by an Indian Premier League (IPL) side for the 2024 season at the December 19 mini-auction.
I’m hoping to be selected for this season’s Indian Premier League. The auction is scheduled for December 19th. “Let’s see what occurs,” he said.
