Shoaib Bashir, who injured his finger during the third Test at Lord’s, has been ruled out of the series, while Liam Dawson has been named to the Playing XI for the fourth Test against India. Dawson will be making his comeback in whites after not playing since 2017. The fourth match will take place on July 23 at Old Trafford in Manchester, with the host team making only one forced alteration from their winning lineup.
On Monday, July 21, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) issued a media release on its official website announcing the Playing XI.
The Ben Stokes-led team, who are presently 2-1 ahead in the five-match series, will try to secure another victory in Manchester to take control of the series. If they lose, the fate of the series would be decided at The Oval in London, where the fifth and final match will be held.
England Men have made one alteration to their XI for the Rothesay Fourth Test against India at Emirates Old Trafford, which begins on Wednesday, July 23. Hampshire spinner Liam Dawson replaces the injured Shoaib Bashir. Dawson will make his first Test debut since July 2017,” the ECB stated in the announcement.
Zak Crawley, the opening batter, was expected to be removed following a streak of low scores, but management remained confident in the 27-year-old for the forthcoming game as well. He’s scored 128 runs in three games, which is really alarming. Crawley will enter the game with confidence and want to reciprocate by being back in the running in the next game.
