The England women’s team for the Women’s Ashes 2025, which will take place in Australia, has been announced. They’ll play in three One-Day Internationals, as many Twenty20 Internationals, and one Test match versus Australia Women. It is noteworthy that the trip will start on January 12, 2025.
After a long period of recovery, wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath is back in the T20I and Test teams for the forthcoming series. Unfortunately, Heath suffered a fractured thumb and missed the recent journey to South Africa. Linsey Smith, Ryanna MacDonald-Gay, and Freya Kemp have been given their maiden Ashes call-ups.
Only the first two names are on the shortlist for the Twenty20 Internationals. Recently, the England & Wales Cricket Board awarded development contracts to Heath and MacDonald-Gay. Against South Africa Women, MacDonald-Gay made an impression during the one-time Test match. Even though she hasn’t fully healed from the injury that kept her out of the South African tour, 18-year-old left-arm fast medium-pacer Mahika Gaur will be travelling with the team.
England will play the Governor General’s XI in a 50-over match before to the series. The first-ever day-night Test will take place at the MCG to wrap out the trip. Australia prevailed in the red-ball match of the final Women’s Ashes in 2023, but England rallied to win the series’ white-ball leg.
