At the IPL 2025 mega auction, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) paid INR 2.60 crore to acquire England all-rounder Jacob Bethell. The gifted cricket player is presently in India as a member of England’s team, which is playing the Men in Blue in a three-match ODI series. In addition, he participated in the T20I series that came before the ODIs.
The affection and support that he has received in India has overwhelmed him, according to Bethell. The 21-year-old recently talked about how RCB supporters have supported him at every Indian stadium he has visited thus far. He also talked about how excited he is to be in the same dressing room as some of the biggest names in world cricket, such as former India captain Virat Kohli, during the 18th IPL.

In Thursday’s first ODI in Nagpur, Bethell was among England’s top players. In addition to taking out a furious Shreyas Iyer, he hit a valiant half-century. To continue in the series, the tourists must win the second ODI on Sunday after losing the first one by four wickets.
