The likes of Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, and Shardul Thakur have been dropped. Devdutt Padikkal has been picked in the squad, along with Axar Patel. Ravindra Jadeja has been appointed the vice-captain.
The West Indies will be led by Roston Chase, and it will be his second assignment as the captain after the series against Australia. Two key players, Alzarri Jospeh and Shamar Joseph, have been ruled out of the squad due to injuries. Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Alick Athanaze have been picked in the side after they were dropped from the last series. Khary Pierre has received his maiden Test callup and might feature in the playing 11.
