Sahibzada Farhan, a batter for Pakistan, was featured in a light-hearted quiz last week that caused an unexpected response after a video went viral showing him selecting Ahmed Shehzad over cricket greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Saeed Anwar.
Farhan is asked to choose one player from the two in a quick-fire “this or that” part in the video, which has gone viral on social media.
Despite some of the most recognisable names in cricket history, he consistently chose Shehzad as his favourite batter. Given the prominence of players like Tendulkar and Sehwag in international cricket, the decision sparked immediate controversy.
Basit Ali, a former Pakistani footballer, was shocked by what he heard during a conversation. Basit humorously apologised on Farhan’s behalf while pleading with viewers to quit thinking about the subject with folded hands.
“This is not real. 100% bogus. Thus yet, Sahibzada Farhan has not gone so far as to replace Sachin Tendulkar with Ahmed Shehzad. “I beg you to put an end to this topic,” Ali posted on his YouTube channel, “The Game Plan.”
“I swear to you all that I will ask Sahibzada, ‘Were you in your senses that day?’ anytime I see him. I swear. He went on, “Tell anyone who asks you a question about Sahibzada’s pick that Basit Ali and Kamran Akmal apologise.”

In addition to Ali, former wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal also joined in the discussion and offered a light-hearted apology. When Farhan made the ridiculous remark on the show, Akmal couldn’t stop giggling.
“We kindly request your pardon for Farhan error,” he stated.
Kamran also expressed his scepticism that Farhan would actually rank Shehzad higher than all-time greats like Tendulkar and Sehwag, and he urged him to provide evidence to support his response.
Shehzad had a respectable international career with Pakistan, but Sahibzada chose players who are regarded as all-time greats. As a result, the cricketing circle laughed at his remarks.
The opening batsman for Pakistan has been included in the team’s preliminary roster for the forthcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which gets underway on February 7. With 37 appearances and 917 runs at an average of 25.5, he has been a consistent member of Pakistan’s T20I team.
