Five of the World Cup ODI 2023’s youngest players

Starting on October 5, 2023, India will host the ODI World Cup. 48 games will be played over 10 sites in India for the 10-team tournament. India is serving as the tournament’s lone host for the first time.

The competition will get underway on October 5 with a match between New Zealand and England at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The location will also host the highly anticipated game between Pakistan and India on October 14. Additionally, on November 19th, it will host the World Cup 2023 final.

Numerous fresh faces will compete alongside seasoned players in the competition. The World Cup will eventually provide some of the young, talented players a chance to shine.

The five ODI World Cup 2023 players who are the youngest are as follows:

1. Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Bangladesh, 20y 341d)

Fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib plays right-handed and was a member of Bangladesh’s U19 World Cup-winning squad in 2020. For Sylhet Division in the 2020–21 National Cricket League, he made his first-class debut on March 29, 2021. His Bangladeshi senior debut took place in Colombo versus India during the 2023 Asia Cup competition.

In his 7.5 overs, he made 14* and took 2/32, including Tilak Varma for 5 runs and Rohit Sharma for a duck. He is regarded as a developing talent who is capable of moving the ball off the ground and in the air.

2. Vikramjit Singh (Netherlands, 20y 241d)

In Cheema Khurd, Punjab, India, on January 9, 2003, Vikramjit Singh was born. When he was only seven years old, his family made a permanent move to The Netherlands. The right-arm medium pacer and left-handed hitter made his ODI debut for the Netherlands against New Zealand in 2022.

He has participated in 25 ODIs to date and amassed 808 runs, including one century and four fifty-sevens. In ODIs, he averages 32.32 and has a 77.17 strike rate. Additionally, he has scored 76 runs in 8 T20I appearances for the Netherlands. Under the guidance of Dutch cricketing icon Peter Borren, he refined his skills at a young age. His lone ODI century came against Oman in the most recent Super Six match in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.

3. Riaz Hassan (Afghanistan, 20y 310d)

Afghan native and right-handed top-order hitter Riaz Hassan is from Nangarhar. At the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha, he made his Afghanistan ODI debut in January 2022 against the Netherlands. He has played five ODIs so far, totaling 120 runs for the Afghans.

The young player scored his greatest total of 50 runs over this brief timeframe. Notably, Hassan’s most recent international match for Afghanistan was against Pakistan’s neighbors. Riaz Hasaan had a decent start in this game, but he was unable to turn it into a massive hit. Nevertheless, it is commendable that the batter managed to score 34 runs for his team while playing away from home in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

4. Aryan Dutt (Netherlands, 20y 118d)

Right-arm off-break bowler Aryan Dutt has so far played in 25 ODI and 5 T20I matches for the Netherlands. at 2021, at Rotterdam, he played his first ODI match against Scotland. His highest bowling performance in ODIs was 3/31, and he has taken 20 wickets for an economy of 5.17. Additionally, he has 4 T20I wickets.

Former Dutch coach Ryan Campbell thought highly of him. His claim to fame came when he outstruck West Indies hitter Nicholas Pooran in each of the three one-day international matches in June 2022, preventing him from scoring more than 10 runs each time.

5. Noor Ahmad (Afghanistan, 18y 253d)

Noor Ahmad of Afghanistan will be one of the ODI World Cup 2023’s most intriguing young players to keep an eye on. When he played for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023, the left-arm wrist spinner, age 18, attracted everyone’s attention. In T20 leagues all across the world, he has participated.

Noor has participated in 3 ODIs and 1 T20I for Afghanistan, taking 6 wickets overall. On surfaces that facilitate turns, his left-arm wrist spin will mesh with Rashid Khan’s leg-spin, and the pair might achieve amazing things. The Afghanistan side will be most interested in his performance.
