It is no secret that former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli had an altercation on the pitch. After making a comment about Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI century during the just-finished ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Gambhir, who is renowned for making direct statements, gained popularity.

Against New Zealand in the 2023 ODI World Cup semi-final at Mumbai’s legendary Wankhede Stadium, Kohli hit a fifty-over record, breaking fifty wickets. Before the third and last One-Day International (ODI) between South Africa and India, Gambhir was asked to identify the bowler whose over it was that Kohli accomplished the incredible feat.

During the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli got into a furious altercation. On the field, Kohli and LSG fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq got into a fight. Following the game, the incident escalated when Gambhir, who was mentoring LSG, interrupted Kohli and Naveen’s conversation. Interestingly, Gambhir and Kohli engaged in combat at one point during the 2013 IPL.

In addition, Gambhir discussed Mitchell Starc’s signing. Gambhir has been designated the mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming IPL. The two-time champions paid an incredible INR 24.75 crore to acquire the Ace Australian quick, making him the most expensive player in the IPL 2024 auction.
