[WATCH] Gautam Gambhir gives Virat Kohli new ‘desi’ tag at DPL 2025 final

With only a week until the Asia Cup 2025, Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir stunned fans by introducing new nicknames to many cricketing legends during a lighthearted encounter at the Delhi Premier League (DPL) final. Gambhir referred to experienced batter Virat Kohli as ‘Desi Boy’ in a quick-fire segment, which piqued fans’ interest.

The former India opener, who had been enjoying some time away from cricket after India’s one-month international break, was in a pleasant mood at the occasion. While international cricket continued with series such as Australia vs South Africa, the UAE Tri-Series, Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe, and Bangladesh versus Netherlands, Gambhir admits to not watching much cricket recently.

During the conversation, Gautam Gambhir also presented titles to several Indian cricket legends.

He labeled Sachin Tendulkar ‘Clutch’, Jasprit Bumrah ‘Speed’, and Shubman Gill ‘Most Stylish.’ He named Zaheer Khan the ‘Death Over Specialist’, VVS Laxman the ‘Run Machine’, and Rishabh Pant the ‘Most Funny.’ He also referred to Rahul Dravid as “Mr. Consistent” and Nitish Rana as the “Golden Arm.”
