After Rahul Dravid declined to extend his contract as head coach, Gautam Gambhir took over, and the Indian team’s management saw some changes. The team’s performances in the last two Test series have drawn harsh criticism for the latter, but thus far, the 2011 World Champion’s tenure as coach has been fruitful.
Gautam Gambhir praised Rohit Sharma for his performances and talked candidly about their friendship.
In order to be a successful leader, Gambhir also stressed the significance of being a decent person. The head coach of India anticipated to witness the “Hitman” at his peak during the Champions Trophy final.
“I have a great relationship with Rohit, so forget about him being a captain. He’s a fantastic guy, in my opinion, and that’s what matters. You become a good leader when you are a nice human being. Because of this, I believe he has accomplished a lot with his IPL team and has also won the T20 World Cup,” Gambhir stated in an ICC-released video.
However, once more, those are history and belong to the past. We are now facing a new obstacle. The head coach of India continued, “I hope he can be at his best, both as a leader and as a batsman.”

Rohit Sharma has led India in two T20 World Cups, winning 11 of the 13 games he has played. This is in addition to his record as captain in ICC competitions thus far. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, he captained the side and only lost once, in the crucial final. This is his first Champions Trophy as a leader, and he is currently unbeaten.
India play New Zealand in the final on Sunday, March 9 in Dubai.
