Indian captain Shubman Gill provided an update on Rishabh Pant’s injury, indicating that the wicketkeeper-batsman’s finger injury is not significant and that he is likely to be available for the following Test in Manchester. Pant damaged his left index finger while attempting to receive a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah in England’s first innings at Lord’s.
Despite completing the over, he did not take wickets for the rest of the game. Substitute Dhruv Jurel took over as wicketkeeper, while Pant batted in both innings despite his injuries. The Three Lions eventually won the crucial third Test by 22 runs, giving them a 2-1 lead in the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025.
“Rishabh underwent scans, and there was no severe injury. “I believe he will be fine for the next test match,” Gill told reporters, as quoted by DD News.
Pant is currently the second-highest run scorer in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, with 425 runs in six innings, including two hundreds. He trails only the captain, who has 607 runs in three Tests thus far. As a result, his availability becomes critical for the Indian team, which is now down 1-2 in the five-game series with a few games remaining.

But the next time we play, there will be no bad blood. “There is a lot of admiration between the two teams,” Gill remarked.
The fourth Test is scheduled to take place at Old Trafford in Manchester, beginning on July 23. India will be aiming to level the series 2-2, while the hosts will look to seal the series with a win.
