Ahead of IPL 2024, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg praised the potential of budding star Yashasvi Jaiswal, expressing his belief that the forthcoming season will showcase the left-handed batter’s greatest qualities. With a strike rate of 148.73, the southpaw has amassed 1172 runs in 37 innings since making his IPL debut for RR in the 2020 season. He has shown that he has adjusted well to the ins and outs of the Premier League.
Following his outstanding performance in the most recent Test series against England, when the young player accumulated 712 runs in nine innings at an average of 89 and topped the run-scoring charts in the recently finished series, Brad Hogg emphasized Jaiswal’s newly found confidence. Additionally, Hogg stated that he was extensively analyzing the RR squad and that he was only able to identify a few setup constraints.
There are just two gaps in the RR team’s lineup that I could uncover after researching them. A formidable top-order sets them up, and given how his Test career has started off, Jaiswal is extra confident going into this particular match. I believe the IPL 2024 will showcase him at his best,” Hogg was cited by TOI.
Along with highlighting players like Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, and Rovmann Powell, Hogg also emphasized the consistency and balance of RR’s top six. He also emphasized the batsman’s versatility, saying he could be deployed as a floater should the need arise.

With Powell, Hetmyer, and Parag in their lineup, RR has a well-rounded top six. The fact that Ashwin is a capable floater adds even more appeal to this group. Hogg continued, “If they lose early wickets, they can move their hitters down the order and bring Ashwin up.”
Prasidh Krishna’s injury is very painful for RR, and there could be a very good explanation for it: Brad Hogg
Indian cricketer Prasidh Krishna suffered an injury to his left proximal quadricpes tendon while playing for Karnataka in a Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat a few months ago. Hogg acknowledged the setback this injury created for the Rajasthan-based franchise. In addition, Hogg said he believed that the recently chosen Avesh Khan of the Lucknow Super Giants would play his finest bowling in the next IPL season.
“Rishita Roy’s injury is a huge setback, as he had high expectations for the season. Hogg went on, “I think Avesh Khan is going to have one of the best seasons that we have seen of him. I really like him.”
