Director Vikram Solanki of the Gujarat Titans has spoken candidly about the influence and impact that head coach Ashish Nehra had on Mohammed Siraj. After winning the 2025 Champions Trophy and being dismissed by the RCB before the season, the Gujarat Titans bowler has been playing at his best in the 2025 Indian Premier League.
In his seven games thus far, Siraj has claimed 11 wickets at an average of 22.81 and an economy of 8.96, including 3 for 19 versus RCB at the M. Chinnaswaym Stadium. Right now, he is tied for third place in the IPL 2025 in terms of wickets taken.
In my opinion, Ashish has had a significant impact on Siraj for a considerable amount of time. It’s clear that they get along well, but I don’t want to minimise Siraj’s efforts in any way. He obviously has the backing of every coach, and Ashish has undoubtedly had a significant impact. However, we must also recognise and honour the effort that Siraj has done,” Solanki stated the night before GT’s away match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
In terms of boosting players’ confidence, I don’t believe there is a better coach than Ashish Nehra.
We seem to have a man who needs to prove himself. Siraj may have been saddened by the Champions Trophy snub, but he has taken it as motivation to work hard and, I presume, to think carefully about his goals. In terms of his performance, he has an excellent coach in Ashish Nehra. “May that relationship last and may Siraj continue to prosper,” Solanki continued.
Regarding GT’s season thus far, they are presently leading the points table after a fantastic performance against the Delhi Capitals in their most recent match. The team led by Shubman Gill has won five of their last seven games and has continuously maintained their position in the top half of the standings.
