Chennai Super Kings capped off a forgettable season with a consolation victory over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025 Match 67 at Ahmedabad.
CSK chose to bat first and quickly stepped on the throttle, with Ayush Mhatre (34 off 17) going all guns blazing in the powerplay, featuring a 28-run over from Arshad Khan. Devon Conway (52 off 35) held the score level while Prasidh Krishna (2 for 22) was generating problems. Urvil Patel (37 off 19) kept the blitz going, superbly positioning Dewald Brevis (57 off 23). Brevis delivered hard punches at the death to propel CSK to a massive total.
GT’s pursuit went pretty much nowhere.
GT lost three wickets in the powerplay for the first time in the tournament, as their top-order struggled to replicate their impact from earlier in the season. Anshul Kamboj (3 for 13) scored twice on the powerplay, while Ravindra Jadeja (2 for 17) shredded the middle order. Noor Ahmad (3 for 21) then took care of the lower middle order, handing CSK a comfortable victory.
CSK’s victory shattered GT’s aspirations of finishing in the top two, and the trend of eliminated teams defeating qualified teams in IPL 2025 continued.
Here are the most important numbers from the game:

9 – With 170 scalps, Ravindra Jadeja has become the joint ninth-highest wicket taker in the IPL.
