IPL 2025: GT vs SRH Stats & Records at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Overview

The Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on each other in the 51st match of the IPL 2025. The match between the two former champions will take place on the 2nd of May at 7:30 PM (IST) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both sides have had a contrasting journey in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.

While GT has 6 wins and 3 losses in their 9 matches in the tournament, SRH has 3 wins and 6 losses to their name in their 9 matches in the tournament. With a positive net run rate of 0.748, GT are placed 4th in the points table. On the other hand, SRH are in the 9th position in the table with a negative net run rate of -1.103.

SRH has two victories and three defeats in their previous five games. Similarly, GT has lost two of their last five games and won three. Even though GT scored 209 runs in their last game, they were defeated by RR in 15.5 overs. However, in their home ground, SRH defeated CSK by five wickets, marking their first victory in Chennai in the history of the league.

The rosters of both teams include some of the world’s top players. SRH’s team includes Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, and others, whereas GT’s lineup includes players like Rashid Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Jos Buttler, and Shubman Gill. A defeat might almost spell the end of SRH’s chances of qualifying. They would therefore attack GT.

Top Player Battles to Watch in GT vs SRH, Match 51 – IPL 2025

1. Shubman Gill vs Mohammed Shami

Shubman Gill has been in good form in the IPL 2025. The star batter usually acts as an anchor, allowing the batters to bat around him. Hence, he is likely to play a long innings, unless he gets dismissed early. One SRH bowler who could dismiss him in the Powerplay overs would be Mohammed Shami.

The right-arm pacer has a balanced record against Gill in their faceoffs. Gill has scored 57 runs in 46 deliveries against Shami at a batting average of 28.50, at a strike rate of 118.75. The right-arm pacer has got the better of the GT skipper on two instances, which points to an even contest between the two players.

2. Abhishek Sharma vs Rashid Khan

Considering Abhishek Sharma gets past the Powerplay overs and faces Rashid Khan in the middle overs, their battle could be good. Historically, in the IPL, Abhishek has a huge edge over the world-class bowler. The SRH batter has 63 runs in 30 balls against the unconventional leg spinner.

The Southpaw has a great batting average of 63.00 and an astonishing strike rate of 210 against the star bowler. While Khan has dismissed Sharma once, it is the SRH opener who has an edge in the league. If the duo face each other in the match, it could be one of the deciding factors to determine the outcome.
