In Match 23 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, the Gujarat Titans defeated the Rajasthan Royals and became victorious in a social media contest. After the game in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad ended in favour of GT by a margin of 58 runs, the digital showdown was won.
Following the defeat, the Rajasthan Royals shared a famous clip from the well-known Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, in which Bagha chose to sleep rather than worry and left everything to fate.

GT were prompt in responding to RR’s tweet, and followed the same template as they uploaded a clip from the same show in which Jethalal, a character from the show, was shown being lulled into sleep by his father Champaklal, taking a jibe over their rivals after defeating them.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans have historically dominated the Royals.
The 58-run win in Ahmedabad was their sixth victory against the 2022 finalists. Interestingly, GT won their maiden IPL title by defeating the same opposition at the same venue that year.
Sai Sudharsan won Player of the Match before the game because of his incredible 82-run knock in 53 deliveries. In the run-chase, the southpaw also managed to hold onto a few catches. In terms of bowling, former RR player Prasidh Krishna was the most impressive performer, taking three wickets in his four-over spell.
With this victory, Gujarat Titans moved up to the top of the table with four victories in five games, while Rajasthan Royals, with two victories in as many games, are still in seventh place.
