Harbhajan Singh criticises Kamran Akmal harshly, saying, "This is a childish statement that only a 'Nalaayak' can make
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh chastised him for his immature attitude even though he expressed regret for his offensive remark.

The rivalry between India and Pakistan in cricket has a long history. When these two enormous cricket players square off on the pitch, things quickly turn heated. On June 9, India and Pakistan played in a T20 World Cup 2024 match, and nothing had changed. Indian pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh had to hold the 21 runs needed in the last two overs as the contest came down to the wire.

After Arshdeep bowled the 20th over, with Pakistan needing 18 runs, former Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal made a comment that infuriated cricket fans around the world. In a playful jab, Akmal pointed out that the pacer was not moving with much rhythm and explained his Sikh faith.

“Always a bit of luck, huh? Arshdeep Singh ne hai dekhein last over karna. We don’t have a lot of rhythm. Twelve months to go (Anything might happen). Arshdeep Singh, who hasn’t looked very rhythmic, will bowl the final over. Akmal laughed along with the other panellists on the ARY show, “And it’s already 12″).”

Without much delay, Harbhajan reminded Akmal of the Sikh community’s cultural significance and their remarkable contribution to society despite all obstacles. He also spent his time explaining the 12-clock comment and recollected how significant the event was historically, when Akmal had become a jest.

“Only a ‘Nalaayak’ could make such a ridiculous and juvenile statement. Kamran Akmal has to realise that disparaging and saying nasty things about other people’s religions is not necessary. Crickit cited Harbhajan as stating, “I would like to ask Kamran Akmal – Do you know the history of Sikhs, who are Sikhs and all the work that Sikhs have done to save your community, your mothers, sisters?”

Ask your ancestors: “Stop talking foolishness, because the Sikhs used to assault the Mughals at 12 o’clock and save your moms and sisters. His rapid understanding and apology are commendable, but he should never attempt to harm any Sikh or anyone of any other religion ever again. Whether it’s Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, or Hinduism, we appreciate all religions,” he continued.

I truly apologise for the remarks I made earlier, Kamran Akmal

Every time India and Pakistan faced off on the pitch, Akmal was at the core of the issue. He is notorious for getting in the way of former India opener Gautam Gambhir at the 2009 Asia Cup. He even engaged in behaviour with Ishant Sharma during a Twenty20 International series, which resulted in a fine of fifteen percent of their respective match fees. His shenanigans don’t end there. Akmal acknowledged his appreciation for the Sikh community and entered a guilty plea after taking a lot of heat for his recent remarks.

I deeply regret my recent comments and sincerely apologize to @harbhajan_singh and the Sikh community. My words were inappropriate and disrespectful. I have the utmost respect for Sikhs all over the world and never intended to hurt anyone. I am truly sorry. #Respect #Apology

“I genuinely apologise to Harbhajan Singh and the Sikh community for my recent remarks, which I profoundly regret making. My remarks were impolite and unsuitable. I never meant to hurt anyone, and I have the deepest regard for Sikhs everywhere. I really apologise,” Akmal stated.
