The Delhi Capitals, under David Warner‘s leadership, have not had a particularly memorable 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Delhi have only won two of their eight games in the IPL 2023 thus far, and they are presently last in the standings. Harbhajan Singh, a former India cricketer, voiced his opinion on the team’s poor performance in the tournament after observing it. The 42-year-old criticised David Warner’s performance as captain. Warner’s strike rate has been a source of concern for Delhi, despite the fact that he has consistently scored runs for his team despite being dismissed for a blank in Delhi’s previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“I don’t believe they can make a comeback, and their commander is the sole reason why. In addition to poor leadership, his form was a problem. It has been a tremendous letdown. Because Warner was dismissed earlier today (against SRH), Delhi came so close. If he had played 50 balls, 50 balls would have been squandered, and DC would have lost by 50 runs,” Harbhajan Singh said in a YouTube video.
This year, Warner has not really lived up to his stature. Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh continued the discussion by discussing Warner’s strike rate in the current IPL. The 36-year-old has scored 306 runs in eight games at a strike rate of 118.6. Harbhajan also accused Warner of lacking intent in the matches and blamed him for the team’s dismal performance.
Even now, when he attends presentations, he comments on the errors of other participants. What have you done, however? You did not demonstrate intent; you scored more than 300 runs, but consider your strike rate. This year, Warner has not really lived up to his stature. His 300 runs are useless for DC. “If Warner wants to know why DC is at the bottom, he should look in the mirror,” said Harbhajan Singh.
