India spinner Harbhajan Singh praised all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for his great run in the IPL 2023 match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
At the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, April 21, the four-time IPL winners beat Aiden Markram and his team by seven wickets. CSK has won four of its six games so far, while SRH has only won two.
Jadeja’s 3/22 in four overs helped CSK keep SRH to 134/7 after they were asked to bat first. MS Dhoni and his team then chased down the goal with seven wickets and eight balls to spare, keeping them in third place in the IPL 2023 points table.
When asked if Jadeja would have done better if he had bowled four overs in a row, Harbhajan said that the star all-rounder hadn’t bowled a single bad ball against SRH. He went on to say that the line and length were so good that the hitters wanted to score, but Jadeja wouldn’t let them.
“You get into a groove, and Ravindra Jadeja didn’t bowl a single bad ball today. Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports after the match that the line and length were so accurate that the batters had to do something special to score runs. “He won’t give runs, so you’d have to play some shots to score runs,” he said.
Harbhajan Singh then said that the choices the SRH batters made for their shots were wrong, and he pointed out that they picked the wrong way. The 42-year-old also questioned Mayank Agarwal’s strategy, saying that his early exit from the crease led to his removal.
“They picked the wrong way to take the shot. Mayank Agarwal left the spot way too soon. He sent a message saying he was going to come out and let the bowler see him so he could throw a little wider,” he said.
Jadeja first eliminated Abhishek Sharma by having Ajinkya Rahane catch him. This ended a 36-run stand between the second and third wickets. After that, Akash Singh caught Rahul Tripathi, who was 34 years old, when Jadeja threw him the ball. The all-rounder finally got rid of Agarwal when captain Dhoni made a great catch.
