At Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 13, Karun Nair had one of the greatest IPL comebacks, hitting 89 off just 40 balls against the Mumbai Indians (MI). Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, shared his thoughts on the fantastic knock from the Vidarbha batsman, who entered the competition following outstanding domestic cricket exploits and immediately made an impression.
Nair last appeared for the Rajasthan Royals in an IPL game in 2022, which was three years ago. With 12 fours and five sixes, he hammered 89 off 40 to get off to a fantastic start on his comeback. Even though the knock was in vain, it was enough to take the opponents by surprise because they didn’t seem to know how to halt Nair’s attack. Pandya said that at one point he had run out of ways to halt Nair, but he still commended him for his diligence.
“Success is always unique. particularly in games such as these. It means so much that you must continue to fight. We were running out of things to throw at him. At the post-match presentation, Pandya praised the way he faced our bowlers, took risks, and performed.
Hardik Pandya shares the team’s motto: “Keep fighting.”
Pandya also shared how, despite the fact that things appeared to be going out of control, his crew persevered till the very end. Karn Sharma, who was named Player of the Match, was commended by him for his bravery and ability to bowl on attacking lines and lengths. The MI captain went on to say that the squad kept the battle going despite the bowlers’ difficult conditions due to the dew.
“Exhibits excellent character by having the courage to throw it up when the boundaries are only 60 meters long.” We insisted that we wanted to continue in the competition and never gave up. Everyone raised their hand, and we managed to keep our chance,” Hardik continued.
In order for the players to face the most balls, it was desired to get them in form. Later on, dew played a significant role; it became extremely dewy. “Keep fighting” was the buzzword, simply to ensure that the game was not over. We were aware that the game will be altered by a few wickets. Wins like this alter the momentum and make things better, and it has happened to me before as well,” he said.
