Venkatesh Iyer, a member of the Kolkata Knight Riders, had a middling season in the recently concluded Indian Premier League. Even though he scored 404 runs in 14 games, consistency has been a significant issue. In addition, the cricketer did not bowl a single over, raising questions about his health.
However, the 28-year-old clarified that he is able to bowl, but the team’s combination prevented him from doing so. Meanwhile, the cricketer from Indore stated that he would adore to replicate Hardik Pandya’s current performance.
Notably, the Gujarat Titans won the championship in 2022 and qualified for the finals in 2023 under Pandya’s stewardship. He has been outstanding with the offence and has also been a formidable pitcher. Thus, Venkatesh stated that although he has no immediate plans to return to India, he is frantic to recover.
“Obviously, I want to be known as ‘Venkatesh, the complete all-rounder,’ and I want to contribute to the team in all three departments regardless of the batting position, be it opening, middle order, or lower down the order to conclude the games, as well as bowling in the power play and death overs. I aspire to be a consummate all-rounder, similar to what Hardik Pandya is achieving. I believe he is one of the greatest all-rounders in the world, and I aspire to emulate his performance, Iyer said in an interview with India TV.
Iyer Youngster is the greatest thing that has happened to KKR this year. In the recently concluded IPL 2023, Rinku Singh had a stellar season. In fact, many former cricketers anticipate that he will shortly join the national team. Venkatesh stated that Rinku has been the greatest thing that has happened to KKR this season and that he is thrilled to see him succeed.
“He is the best thing that has occurred to KKR this year—a truly remarkable individual. He is a remarkable person. He has repeatedly demonstrated that positive things happen to good people. I’ll never forget the moment he struck five sixes and we ran onto the pitch as if we had won the IPL. “I was ecstatic for him,” said the 28-year-old.
