The Indian squad, which won two consecutive ICC crowns and their seventh ICC trophy overall, celebrated more as the Champions Trophy came to a conclusion. Without dropping a single game, the Men in Blue put on an incredible display and won another championship.
Hardik Pandya, the premier all-rounder for India, got four wickets and scored 99 runs at a strike rate of 106.45 while batting lower in the order,
but nearly every Indian player made a significant contribution. He demonstrated his value to the team, particularly at pivotal moments, with his rapid cameos and key overs with the ball. In addition to discussing his future goals, the 31-year-old all-rounder has acknowledged that he can now officially call himself a Champions Trophy winner, despite his failure to complete the task against Pakistan in 2017.
2017 saw the completion of the work. I am absolutely delighted that tonight is the night when I can declare myself the winner of the champion’s trophy because I was unable to complete the task back then. That sounds fantastic. This, in my opinion, has always been about taking home as many titles as possible. I did say, “That is not done,” after we won in 2024. It’s still five or six trophies I need. In a video that BCCI shared, Hardik stated, “I am so happy that another one has been added.”
“The most significant aspect of my life and cricketing journey is always how I can ensure that my team wins, and every time I take the pitch, even if I don’t help my team win, I think that’s the most beautiful feeling I have,” he continued.
I’m going to India for the ICC T20 World Cup next: Hardik Pandya
When discussing his future aspirations, Hardik mentioned that he has set his sights on the 2026 T20 World Cup, which would be held in India and Sri Lanka. Hardik, who was instrumental in the event and won the title in 2024, is likely hoping to defend it.
I adore games like this where everyone puts their all into it, and I suppose I was for India and Bharat. Everyone came out there and, you know, showed their class at the same time the belief they have, which is wonderful. The winner has finished their trophy. Taking home the trophy at the ICC T20 World Cup in India is my next objective,” Hardik said.
