In his single over during the intense match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Wankhede Stadium, MI captain Hardik Pandya sent both Liam Livingstone and the highly effective Virat Kohli back to the dugout.
Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, decided to bowl after winning the toss.
Phil Salt was forced to return to the pavilion after Trent Boult’s delectable inswinging delivery in the 2025 Indian Premier League’s Match 20 defeated the batter on the second delivery.
In the current match against the Mumbai Indians, Virat Kohli was at his most fluid, leading the Royal Challengers Bengaluru innings with a calm but aggressive 67 off just 42 balls. Kohli timed the ball beautifully from the minute he entered, combining strong leg-side smashes with graceful drives. By skilfully rotating the strike and finding boundaries with ease, he made sure RCB kept up their momentum throughout the middle overs. Even as wickets dropped all around him, his knock served as a reminder of his poise and ability to manage the innings’ pace.
But just as RCB was trying to pick up speed after the planned timeout, Kohli’s innings ended. He shuffled a long distance outside off, facing Hardik Pandya, trying to go big on the leg side but failing miserably. Hardik made a huge breakthrough when the ball took the top edge and rocketed to Naman Dhir at deep square.

The over turned into a game-changer when Pandya followed it up with the wicket of Liam Livingstone just two balls later, the Englishman attempting a scoop shot, only to get hurried by pace and lob a simple catch to Jasprit Bumrah at short third. With two key wickets in a single over, Pandya swung the momentum firmly in Mumbai’s favour.
