After playing a game-winning hand in the UP Warriorz’s next game against the Mumbai Indians on Thursday, January 15, Harleen Deol talked about her response to being asked to retire during the team’s match against the Delhi Capitals.
With seven boundaries and 47 runs off 36 balls against Mumbai, the right-handed batsman appeared to be in good form. But at the end of the 17th over, the Warriorz’s team management thought it was time to send the deadly Chloe Tryon into the middle, and they urged Deol to retire herself out in order to make it happen.
Tryon was rejected by Shree Charani for a three-ball one, though, thus she did not live up to her reputation. After Harleen Deol, the set batter, was retired out, a number of fans and several experts were perplexed. The Warriorz were unable to make the most of the latter part of the innings and only managed to score 13 runs in the final three overs. On the final ball, the Capitals won the game by seven wickets.
Against a formidable Mumbai bowling attack on Thursday, she batted like a lady on a mission. She made the 162-run aim seem easy with her undefeated 39-ball 64. Despite missing the previous game, Tryon hammered a scorching 27* off 11 deliveries. The Warriorz’s three-match losing streak ended following their outstanding performance.
Harleen Deol claimed that even though she was hitting well against Delhi, it was the appropriate choice to substitute Tryon, who is a powerful batsman, for her.
In fact, I was batting great yesterday as well. Chloe has the ability to alter the situation, as you witnessed today. That’s exactly how I interpreted it. She has the ability to hit big, but that didn’t work out for us. “That’s how I see it,” Harleen Deol stated during the presentation ceremony following the game.
During her undefeated run, Deol hit five and a half boundaries. Tryon, on the other hand, hit one six and four fours. With seven wickets and eleven balls remaining, they were instrumental in helping the Warriorz chase down a 162-run goal.
