One Indian, Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the women’s squad, is on the 50-member shortlist for the Women’s Big Bash League’s squad of the Decade, which is drawn from the league’s ten seasons.
Harmanpreet Kaur played with the Melbourne Renegades Women in 2021 and 2023 and the Sydney Thunder Women from 2016 to 2019.
Throughout the WBBL’s ten-year history, the best players will be honored with the Team of the Decade award. Prior to the current season, the player must have participated in at least 60 WBBL games in order to be considered for the shortlist.
Between November 11 and November 24, the Big Bash App will serve as the platform for public voting. A selection panel will reduce the initial 50-member draft to 12 members. The league will limit the number of foreign players in the final XI to no more than three.
Cricket Australia Director Clea Smith is chairing the selection panel. Lisa Sthalekar, Alistair Dobson, Laura Jolly, Matthew Mott, Quentin Hull, and Mel Jones are also on the committee. According to News18, public voting will be given equal weight.
