The rivalry is getting more fierce with each match as the WPL 2025 limps to its conclusion. In the match between the UP Warriorz and the Mumbai Indians, Harmanpreet Kaur got into a heated argument with both the umpire and UP star Sophie Ecclestone.
Harmanpreet Kaur was told by the umpire that they could only have three players outside the circle in the last over due to the slow over-rate, which led to the dispute towards the end of the 19th over.
The MI captain began to argue with the umpire since she did not like it. Since she had to ball the last over, Amelia Kerr was likewise not happy.
Sophie Ecclestone, who was at the bowler’s end, approached the umpire to let him know something. Famous for her on-field altercations, Harmanpreet Kaur was irritated and was spotted pointing fingers at the English cricket player, perhaps urging her to keep her job and not get involved. The gifted cricket player Ecclestone, of course, became enraged as well and, following a verbal dispute, went angrily back towards the bowler’s end.

The scenario did not take a turn, and UP Warriorz were unable to take advantage in the last over and were left at 150 after their innings. Sophie got out in the last over at 16, but as a whole it was a sub-par batting effort by UP Warriorz following a good start by Grace Harris and Georgia Voll. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians’ Hayley Mathews gave a good start to their innings by scoring 68 runs off 46 balls. The match seems to be in the Mumbai Indians’ hands.
