In the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 final league match, Smriti Mandhana captained the Indian women’s team against Nepal as Harmanpreet Kaur was rested. Harmanpreet was in a tricky predicament at the toss since she couldn’t remember the changes to the playing XI.
She remembers the adjustments when Dayalan Hemalatha was replaced by Uma Chetry in her debut Asia Cup 2024 match. Arundhati Reddy was replaced by Pooja Vastrakar, who was rested against Nepal as well. Harmanpreet came back to the side, forcing Sajeevan Sajana to give up her position. The right-handed batter emphasised at the toss that he needed to capitalise on the powerplay to stay ahead in the game.
“So far, we’ve played some excellent cricket. We also wish to support ourselves today. Regardless of whether you are batting first or second, powerplay is always crucial. They consistently provide solid competition and are a good side. For now, we must concentrate on the work we have already completed. At the toss, Harmanpreet stated, “We have a few changes.”

With nine overs remaining and ten wickets in hand, India managed to achieve the target.
