Harshal Patel, the pace bowler for the RCB, has stated that he is not satisfied with his bowling in the IPL 2023, despite taking 10 wickets.
Notably, Harshal was one of the most important bowlers for RCB over the past two seasons, as his variations were difficult for batsmen to predict. This season, he has failed to make a significant impact. Other than Mohammed Siraj, no other RCB bowler has distinguished himself this season.
Harshal Patel, analyzing his own performance, stated that he wishes to reduce the number of free passes he gives to the batters and improve in certain areas.”I have taken 10 wickets but am unhappy with my bowling. There are still a few areas I wish to improve and rectify. Yes, I’ve written reviews after every game, but I believe I’m giving away too many freebies, so I want to scale back,” Harshal was quoted as saying by India Today.
“The conditions are undoubtedly conducive to my bowling style, and as a bowler from Bangalore, I appreciate the long boundaries. Considering their batsmen, we need to bowl well and limit their runs,” he added.
In the most recent match between RCB and LSG, the pacer conceded only 20 runs and also picked up a wicket in 3.5 overs. The Faf du Plessis-led side scored 126 runs when they batted first, with Virat Kohli and the captain providing an ideal start for the visiting team.
However, the middle order failed once again, and this is an area where RCB must improve promptly. RCB claimed the match after LSG struggled throughout and fell short by 16 runs in the end. They remained in third place on the IPL Points Table, while RCB moved to fifth.
