Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians Women will play the Delhi Capitals in the WPL 2025 final on March 15 at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium. The Mumbai team is now aiming for its second WPL championship after defeating the Gujarat Giants by a commanding 47 runs in the elimination match. Hayley Matthews, the star all-rounder, is full of confidence and wants to replicate the magic of 2023, when Mumbai upset Delhi to win the first title.
They started the powerplay slowly against Gujarat, but Matthews (77 off 50) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (77 off 41) led their team to a commanding 213/4. Harmanpreet helped the team to the highest-ever total in a WPL playoff match with her blazing cameo of 36 off just 12 at the end.
Gujarat never looked in the run-chase as they were bowled out for 166 after giving in to pressure from the scoreboard.
Hayley Matthews, who earned Player of the Match after taking three wickets for 31 runs, also played a significant role with the ball.
Before the thrilling final, the West Indies all-rounder spoke on the team’s unity and friendship and how their off-field chemistry has helped them succeed on the field.

The top cricket player from the Caribbean is eager to play the Delhi-based team in this crucial tournament match. The 26-year-old admitted that Delhi is a formidable team and that the forthcoming match would not be easy.
“Hopefully, we can make history by winning again! The Delhi Capitals have clearly outperformed us this season and are a top team. However, I think that implies we’re due for a victory over them right now. “Hopefully, the final goes our way,” she continued.
