With a strong performance in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL), leg-spinner Mayank Markande made a name for himself. The gifted spinner, who was a member of the Mumbai Indians, recorded 15 wickets in 14 games with a strike rate of 17.60 and an average of 24.53. Mayank Markande made his India debut in a T20I matchup against Australia in February 2019.
In the three IPL seasons that followed (2019, 2021, and 2022) the Punjab bowler only appeared in six games. However, the kid found that this year’s IPL was a remarkable event from a personal perspective. While Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled in the current IPL, Mayank Markande was their star bowler, taking 12 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of 7.89.
Mayank Markande was recently questioned if he has modified his bowling drills during an interview.
The 25-year-old said that he had not altered his bowling regimen but that this season had provided him with more possibilities than in the past.
“I didn’t really modify anything about the way I bowl in particular. It was only about a chance. I wasn’t receiving the opportunities before, but this time I did, and fortunately I was able to take use of it,” Markande stated in an interview with CricketMOOD.
Hemang Badani, a member of the SRH support team, recognized potential in Markande’s batting and asked him to concentrate on it, Markande also disclosed.
Hemang Badani Sir was present as well. He also informed me that I have a lot of potential as a batter and urged me to concentrate more on the ability. During the off-season, I’ll begin practicing my batting technique. I’ve heard that I have good batting skills quite a bit, but I don’t actually practice them laughs.
