Hong Kong has become the third team to reveal its squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, with Yasim Murtaza leading a 20-member group. The team, who last played in 2022, will be hoping to pull off a few upsets and get to the Super Fours round of the competition.
The team features experienced players such as Babar Hayat, Anshuman Rath, and Mohammad Aizaz Khan, as well as some talented young players such as Nasrulla Khan, Kinchit Shah, and Ehsan Khan. Hong Kong will begin their campaign with a headline T20 match against Afghanistan on September 9 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Apart from the Afghans, Hong Kong will face the two other Group B teams, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, to conclude the group stage matches. The Bangla Tigers, the only other team in the group, have named their squad for the elite T20 competition, which will be led by Litton Das, with star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz missing out.
Hong Kong will face the Bangladeshi challenge on September 11 in Abu Dhabi. The team will next travel to Dubai for their last group round match against Sri Lanka on September 15.
