Avesh Khan won Player of the Match for his outstanding play with the ball during the Lucknow Super Giants’ match against the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, April 19, at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. When RR needed nine runs to win the last over, the 28-year-old gave up just six runs.
The right-arm quick gave a brief update on the condition of his hand, which was hit by the ball during the game’s last delivery, before bringing up Mitchell Starc.
“My hand hurt my bone, but I was unable to celebrate. My goal is simply to become a decent Avesh Khan, not Mitchell Starc. I try to use Yorker, which is my strength.
Avesh Khan revealed during the post-match presentation, “I don’t bowl while looking at the scorecard.”
I’m going to attempt to bowl similarly in the remaining games: Additionally, as he ran in to bowl the game’s last ball to Shubham Dubey, Avesh revealed some of his thoughts.
I was certain that Miller would take it (on his drop). I had some reservations, but I thought that one edge, either inside or outside, may serve as a barrier. “Bowl a yorker on middle and leg,” I told myself. I reflect on the squad. We took this victory. I will attempt to bowl similarly in the remaining games because this is a major event,” he continued.
The two-run triumph was just the second time in IPL history that LSG defeated RR. Avesh was given due credit for a significant portion of it. He had notably let up 31 runs in his opening three overs. Avesh ultimately reached his four-over requirement with scores of 3/37.
This victory marked the sixth victory of the season for the team captained by Rishabh Pant. In terms of points, they are currently in fourth position. LSG’s next matchup with the Delhi Capitals is set for Tuesday, April 22 in Lucknow.
