After the game between the Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shubman Gill said it was “most pleasing” to get big runs off of Abhishek Sharma. With their 34-run win over the Orange team, the defending winners made sure they would be in the playoffs.
Even though the rest of Gujarat’s batting lineup didn’t do much, Gill’s score of 101 off of 58 balls gave the inning a boost. By doing this, he got his first century in the IPL. During his game, he hit 13 fours, one six, and had a stunning 174.13 strike rate.
Gill said something interesting about his battle with Abhishek Sharma on the field during the show after the game. The flashy hitter said that he wanted to get big runs off of the SRH left-arm spinner if he bowled to him.
“Abhishek Sharma getting out for six was the best thing for me. “I told him that if he bowled to me, I’d hit him for a six,” Gill said during the presentation after the game.
Gill and Abhishek were in the same locker room when India’s U-19 team won the World Cup in 2018. In addition to this, they have both played first-class cricket for Punjab.
Shubman Gill’s life has come full circle.
The Gujarat starter went on to say that when he got his century against Hyderabad, he felt like his life had come full circle because he had made his debut against the same team. Gill also made history by becoming the first Indian to score a century in T20I, ODI, Test, and IPL all in the same calendar year.
“My first game in the IPL was against SRH, and my first hundred was also against them, so life has come full circle.” We hope there will be many more. Everything depends on the bowlers and the situation, and I don’t spend much time thinking about my last game. “It’s important to pay attention to what’s going on right now,” Shubman Gill said.
Regarding his season, the hitter has scored 576 runs in 13 games, including four fifties and one hundred. Gill is now second on the IPL Orange Cap list after getting out against SRH.
