With the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025 auction quickly approaching, experienced India batsman Rohit Sharma has emerged as one of the auction’s top prospects. The 37-year-old lost his position as captain of the Mumbai Indians in 2024 when Hardik Pandya took over.
Due to this, there have been a lot of rumors that Rohit would be up for grabs in the IPL 2025 auction. Veteran India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin recently spoke out about the possible price that Rohit could fetch.
In order to get the Indian captain’s services for the tournament, Ashwin believed that a team would have to set up INR 20 crore for him. Rohit has guided MI to five IPL championships, making them the tournament’s joint most successful team.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have reportedly expressed interest in hiring Rohit Sharma because of recent rumors. In response to the rumor, former South Africa cricket player AB de Villiers spoke out about how ridiculous the rumors are.
“I nearly chuckled when Rohit made that remark. If Rohit leaves the Mumbai Indians to join the RCB, it will be a story. Wow! Just think of the headlines. De Villiers stated in a video posted on his YouTube channel, “It will be more significant than Hardik Pandya’s move.”
