Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, recently made the decision to adopt a new strategy in an effort to get back on track at the current ICC World Cup. Shakib decided to go back to Dhaka and train with his instructor, Nazmul Abedeen Faheem, while the rest of the team continued on to Kolkata for their next matches against the Netherlands and Pakistan.
Some have expressed disapproval of this decision because Shakib’s previous on-field difficulties have paralleled Bangladesh’s dismal results in the competition. At the bottom of the points table, they are right now.
Shakib Al Hasan landed in Dhaka, according to Faheem, and they will train together for three days before he leaves for Kolkata.
Their workout was mostly centered around batting, with throwdowns in the nets playing a significant role.
“He showed up today. Three days will be dedicated to training,” Faheem told ESPNcricinfo. “He’s going back to Kolkata today, tomorrow, and the day after that. Today, we practiced his hitting.”
