Viacom18 has announced that it has acquired the exclusive digital rights to the India Tour of Ireland 2023 in order to stream the three-match T20I series live on JioCinema. This announcement was made in Mumbai on August 12, 2023. The Jasprit Bumrah-led Indian side will play three T20Is on August 18, 20, and 23 at the Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin. The tour will also be broadcast live on Sports18 – 1, Sports18 – 1 HD, and Sports18 Khel.
JioCinema outperformed TV in terms of audience engagement, viewership, and concurrency with its ongoing India tour of West Indies 2023. More people watched the two-Test series than watched the final of the World Test Championship between Australia and India at its peak on JioCinema, which was over 2.2 million. JioCinema’s all-format tour of the Caribbean has attracted more than seven crore viewers.
“Our goal is to develop a strong multi-sport package, which is motivated by the viewers’ unrelenting rise in embracing the accessibility and personalization of watching their favorite sports. Hursh Shrivastava, Head of Strategy, Partnerships & Acquisitions at Viacom18 Sports, said, “Offering the best of India international cricket with the India tour of Ireland is our endeavor in the same manner.
The three-match T20I series, he continued, “has great significance for Indian cricket fans as it marks the return of India’s bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and provides a glimpse into the next generation of Indian cricket talent.”
JioCinema will stream the series live in a variety of languages, including well-known ones like Punjabi and Bhojpuri. On August 18, Ireland will play India in the first T20I, with coverage beginning at 7:15 PM on JioCinema, Sports18 – 1, Sports18 – 1 HD, and Sports18 Khel.
