The Indian team has been debating whether or not to include numerous all-rounders in the squad, especially for the ICC tournaments. The team has struggled to generate a comparable weapon throughout the years, with Hardik Pandya serving as their go-to all-around player for a considerable amount of time. Although Axar Patel is being developed as a whirling all-around player, Test matches are where fans primarily watch him play.
The Indian squad has added Shivam Dube as an additional all-around option with the 2024 T20 World Cup looming. However, neither for the Indian side nor for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, Dube has bowled much recently. When he was handed the ball in the T20I series against Afghanistan in January, he performed passably. Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar observed this and pointed out that Australia produces more all-rounders than IND does.
Team IND lack of all-round players is a little bit of a problem. Look at Australia; their bowlers, such as Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell Marsh, may bowl four overs in a game. “I believe the Indian team added Shivam Dube to the team in order to lessen the constraints that come with having no all-around players,” Manjrekar stated in the Star Sports Press Room.

Indeed, it’s a minor flaw, and the effect of the substitute rule implemented in the IPL may make the issue worse. We now depend on specialised bowlers and hitters, but the squad will need to make some changes for this World Cup, and one player will need to bowl at least two or three overs in a game, the player said.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup group stage, India hopes to dominate
In the T20 World Cup 2024, India is paired with Pakistan as their other strong opponent in Group A. On June 5, Rohit Sharma and company will play Ireland in their World Cup debut in New York. On June 1, India will play a pre-tournament warm-up match against their Asian rivals, Bangladesh. The United States of America and Canada are the other teams in Group A.
